Windy Hill Orchard reopening next spring under new management
The orchard, which closed this season while the managerial transition was underway, welcomes Neviana Zhgaba and Ardian Llomi, agricultural entrepreneurs and owners of the award-winning Aquila’s Nest Vineyards in Connecticut. This next chapter of Windy Hill’s story builds on the work of Scott Seeberger and his family, whose years of care made the orchard one of the most popular farms in the area, and the first transition of ownership when the orchard became Windy Hill after many years as Goold’s Orchard.

Historic Castleton farm to reopen under new owners
Known as one of the oldest family-owned farms in the Capital Region, the apple orchard was founded by the Goold family in 1910 and, accordingly, called the Goold Orchards. The property was then bought by Scott Seeberger and his family in 2019.

Pad Thai Noodle reopens, Windy Hill Orchards sold, more news
Across the Hudson River, the former Goold Orchards in Schodack, known as Windy Hill Orchard-East since a 2019 sale but closed for a year, has been sold to the owners of Aquila's Nest Vineyards in Connecticut. They intend to relaunch it next year with events and cider made from this fall's crop as a precursor to developing a winery on the site. The Business Review reported the sale price was $1.8 million.
